Directions: Under each complete the phrase, answer the question, fill in the blank, or define the definition.

Describe initial Spanish exploration of the New World: The Spaniards conquered the Indians of South America and stole their riches from them.

Describe Spanish exploration of what would become US including their treatment of Indians: They went to North America to search for more riches and came across with the Indians and killed them all.

Describe French Exploration of the New World: The French settled into Canada and found the Iroquois Indians and began to trade fur with them.

Describe French founding of New Orleans: De La Salle found the land of New Orleans and claimed it French territory.

Describe Dutch Exploration in North America:
In 1614 the Dutch had formed a permanent settlement in New York and called it New Amsterdam but the English came over and took it from and called it New York.

Describe the discovery of Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania began as a debt paid by King Charles II to Quaker William.
