BR: Why were children allowed to work at the dangerous jobs, such as mining? Because they were small kids and they could get around shafts or small places that normal minners could not. They could fix things since they were small to fit into tiny spaces but it didn't go that well for them cause they would get killed or sick.

Describe Ida Tarbell’s writing: Ida’s writing was based on Rockefeller’s ruthless method to run competitors and charge higher prices and reap huge benefits.
What did Upton Sinclair write about? What influence did it have over gov? He wrote a book called “The Jungle” talking about the meat factory and what goes on with the packaging the meat. It was in extreme detail on how the meat was handling, with unwashed hands and then how rats prowl on the meat.
Critically Thinking:
1. He was very discriptive of the packaging industry and telling in extreme detail of what things occured during the meat packaging. How rat's droppings were on the meat and how a worker would see a rat but would not even take it off the meat.
2. He was brave enough to tell the world how disgusting it was to work in the meat places and letting people the things that went on the meat.
