Civil War Part 4 Review

Describe why lee makes the move to Gettysburg: Lee felt that he had an opportunity to win international support, demoralize the Union, and perhaps to win the war. In june of 63 he marches the Confeds to Penn.

Describe Gettysburg Day 1: July 1st 1863, Lee's men ran into Fed Cavalry to Northwest of Gettysburg, Fed call for support which is now run by George Meade. On the first day, The confeds pushed Union down hill and throughtout the town, and up into a set of ridges and hills to the South of town.

Describe Gettysburg Day 2: On the 2nd of July, He orders General Longstreet to attack from South end of the battle line. Lee is met by Union troops that mistakenly left Little Round Top, the fighthing was strong but Longstreet could not break through.

Describe Gettysburg Day 3: Lee had tried once more, first by opening the morning with a major cannon attack meant to break Union troops. He orders a full frontal assault on Cemetery Ridge. Known as Pickett's Charge, Union cannon and musket mowed down Confeds.

Describe Gettysburg Address: On November 1863, Lincoln comes to Gettsyburg, Penn. and gives a short speech honoring the dead, and described the war as struggle to fulfill the Dec of Indp.

Because it showing us how horrorable it was to witness a battle as gruesome as he explained in the description. People getting killed, blood splatter everywhere, cannons and guns shooting. Finding way to keep your life because you are your own when you fight and he was telling us how bad it was out there.
