Reform Review :)

Bell Ringer: What is Gromke's main argument in support of Women's rights?
That men and women are ceated equal and that women should get the same rights as men instead of the slaves. To be treated fair and not taken for granted and for everyone to take them seriously.

Reform Movement Review

Directions: Under each complete the phrase, answer the question, fill in the blank, or define the definition.

Describe the expansionist movement: The expansionist began to use the term Manifest Destiny which they believed that God wanted the US to own all of North America.

Describe Manifest Destiny and what people used it to justify: Manifest Destiny was to own all of North America and then expand the people along the Rookies, Oregon, and other places in the west.

Describe the Temperance Movement: While the US expanded so did the crimes, sickness, poverty, and neglected families. Then many people became addict to alcohol which caused the prohibition.

Describe the Abolition Movement: Since the growth of Cotton cause to increase the rate of slavery. Then by the 1800’s many people began to oppose against slavery and fight for the slaves.

Describe the Education Reform Movement: There weren’t public schools in colonial times because most people could not afford it and reformers wanted to start public school system from tax money. The main person who started it was Horace Mann and he created a state board in Mass.
Describe the Reform Movement for Women’s rights including the Seneca Falls Conference: In the 1800’s women influence their husbands and make differences. Women began to work cause of the North industrializing and gave them new opportunities. And the in 1848 Elizabeth Cady Stanton and other organized first women’s right convention called Seneca Falls and the would fight for women’s rights.
